Keynote Speakers - Pastor Dunn & Dr. Caudill
From Blindness to Sight / From Darkness to Light
Philip Dunn was born in Charleston West Virginia, where he is currently Senior Pastor of Valley Christian Assembly. He is a third-generation minister of the Gospel. His father, the late Evangelist James R. Dunn, was part of the “Voice of Healing” ministry during the 1950s and ‘60s. Pastor Philip grew up watching the miraculous healings and deliverances of thousands of sick and afflicted people in his father’s tent revivals during the first twenty years of his life. He attended South Eastern Bible College in Lakeland Florida where he met, Suzette, his wife of forty-plus years. They have two children, David Mark and Sarah Marie, who have blessed them with four precious grandchildren, Parker, Graham, Evie, and Anna Faye Marie.
After being diagnosed with bilateral cataracts and macular degeneration in 2004, Pastor Philip experienced 14 years of “illegal” blindness. In August 2018,he had surgery on a ruptured cataract. It was after that surgery, that he realized the black spots in the center of his vision were gone. There is only one known cure for macular degeneration - Jesus Christ. Dr. Caudill is a board-certified Ophthalmologist in private practice in Charleston, West VA from 1985 until he retired in December 2021. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Duke University graduating Magna Cum Laude and his Doctor of Medicine degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1980 then a residency in General Opthalmology followed by a fellowship in Cornea and External Eye Diseases. He was a Clinical Associate Professor of Opthalmology at the West VA University School of Medicine until his retirement.
Dr. Caudill accepted Christ at an Opthalmology Prayer Breakfast in 1988 and began serving in missions in 1992. He has been on over 25 short-term projects in Mexico, Central, and South America for cataract surgery and other eye care. He has also been active in Kairos Prison Ministry which is where he met Pastor Phil Dunn. He has continued to do mission trips since his retirement. He has been married to Gloriann for 44 years, and they have four adult children.
